Director, Producer, Editor
Arielle Apfel is a director, producer and editor whose work is comprised of surreal quirky comedies, music videos and slice-of-life docs. Her work aims to capture the quandaries of her generation and is infused with humor and grit. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Apfel studied film theory and direction at the American University of Paris, earning her BA in Film Studies in 2009. She obtained her Masters in filmmaking from the London Film School in the United Kingdom graduating with distinction. Arielle's thesis film, 'A Chick Called Wanda', premiered in June 2016 and won BEST COMEDY at NY SHORTS and won AUDIENCE FAVORITE at Iron Mule Comedy Festival in January 2017. Her films have been mentioned in The Washington Post and Brooklyn Vegan. Currently she is a 2018 Made In New York Fellow and is developing her first feature film 'A Tiny Perfect World' which was accepted into the 2017 Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition.
